Oscar Pistorius fails to qualify for the Olympics in the 400m

Unfortunately, Oscar Pistorius, a bilateral Below Knee Amputee from South Africa, failed to make the qualifying time of 45.55 seconds.  He did better his personal best by elven hundredths of a second and finished in 46.25 seconds.  He still has a chance to be chosen to be on the relay team, but there is a lot of controversy about the safety of himself and other runners if he uses his prosthetic legs.  It is a fascinating story full of controversy.  According to Sports Illustrated and others the IAAF is not very happy about the court’s previous ruling to let him compete that I told you about in an earlier post. So . . . does anybody want to bet if the South African Olympic Committee chooses him for the relay?
