Who Fartlek’d?
Today at work I received via USPS my belated anniversary gift from my wife . . . a tank top with the words “Who Fartlek’d?” on the front.

I have wanted this for quite some time cause I thought it was quite funny. So tonight Lisa and I were sitting on the couch watching the “Andy Griffith Show” when the door bell rang. This startled us since we don’t have a lot of people just stop by unannounced. Well, since I was sitting on the couch in only my boxers and my brand new fartlek tank top, I was scrambling to get to the bedroom and get some shorts on. The dogs are excited and sliding across the new laminate flooring. Meanwhile, Lisa answers the door and it is a salesman selling boxes of meat at a “deep discount” ($168). He was probably around 25 years old. I finally, get my shorts on and get to the front door to see what was going on. As soon as I walked out the door he noticed the words on my tank top and he just busted out laughing and pointing towards my shirt in the middle of his meat sales pitch. Lisa and I then explained to him what a fartlek workout was and he still thought it was pretty funny. He asked us if we were runners to which we said yes. I told him we had just run the Nashville Marathon a few months ago and then he gave us our favorite question that people ask us, “How many miles was that marathon?” To that we kindly responded “26.2 miles”, while thinking, “the same as every other marathon”. His response to the shirt was worth every penny we spent on it. Hopefully, there will be more. . .

Nice. You should wear it to go biking with your small group
.
LOL! i love it!! good to catch up with you guys! I found your blog via Jenn’s…happy running!
great story! I got a picture in my mind as you were describing the scenario.
This guy probably won’t ever forget this particular house call.
Nice shirt! I just found your blog off of Jenny’s. I finally looked her’s up after having it in my e-mail for several months. How are you guys doing? We have been doing well, another Miller on the way in December 21st and the kids are growing fast. I can’t believe Aubrey will be four in less than two months and Cameron is growing about an inch a month it seems. Happy I found your blog. I would write more, but I am sore and tired after doing flood cleanup downtown tonight.
Hi Lisa and Jason. Thanks for leaving a comment the other day Lisa. It was nice to have an immediate link to yours instead of having to go look for the little scrap of paper I tucked into my address book somewhere. That coupled with my awful memory is the excuse I’m giving for not visiting earlier. I’ve enjoyed your blog and love the pictures of your housing projects. I’ll be back to visit again!
Sorry I didn’t see the post earlier. . . Oh, well, it gave me a chance to smile today.
Hey Jason
thanx for picking up that shirt from my online store, at least I think you got it from my store!
